Rahul isn't Gandhi

CNN-IBN reports:

“Rahul is like Mahatma, doing what MK Gandhi did. Coming back to India from a foreign land to help the Indian people,” he said.

This is a very simplistic view and an unjust comparison. Maybe, RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav is rationally comparing only the one aspect of both of them returning from a foreign land to "help" Indians.

Help is the word. There is a clear difference here and Lalu's comparison is hence absolutely baseless and seems more like an impromptu utterance rather than astute wisdom.

Rahul is still only a Congress worker, a servant of the Indian National Congress of today. A faithful follower of their policies. And if he truly was open-minded and ready to rise above partisan politics, we would have heard a lot from him regarding some of the Government's incapabilities, most importantly a well-structured attitude and ethic towards dealing with terrorism. He may be clean and positive in nature, but a comparison with Gandhiji is too much, too soon.

I'm not someone whose opinion or conclusions matter, but I believe Rahul now is just Rahul Gandhi - the face of dynasty politics, a progeny of a glorified surname, not assertive or ruthless in nature to lead an India of today, a backbencher, a spoon-fed Prince with a legacy behind him.

And if the nation believes that he is young and is a beacon of hope to all the young people of this country, then we should also believe that there are a thousand, if not tens of thousands, other young people with arguably more talent and gumption to serve the country than him.

They just don't have the necessary qualifications. A last name.

Trailblazer, why are you giving any importance to the utterances of buffoons like Laloo? Or may be I am wrong, may be he should apologise to the nation for heaping the worst possible insult any one could have on the Father of the Nation. Next he will say that he himself is Gautam Buddha or Chandragupta Maurya because he is from Bihar.

He is proving to be bigger sychophant than even Congressmen. He also said today that after the next elections he will make Sonia the PM. All this is proof that he knows, in his heart, that the people of Bihar are not going to get fooled by him any more. Now the only chance he has by sucking up to the Family. After the elections, if the dice falls right, he will discover everything wrong with them and try to become PM himself.

He is also probably preparing the ground of inducting many of his nine children into politics. Really, with such politicians around, Bihar has no hope. And since he with Congress...

Hehehe... The dude's a psycho. I wonder why he makes such statements. Is Lalu really that stupid or does he just pretend to be a buffoon?

As for Rahul Gandhi, I puke every time one of those sycophantic morons infesting the Congress starts sucking up to Gandhi. Doesn't the Congress have even one leader better than Rahul Gandhi? If not, the Congress is in big trouble.

lol...good way to gain milage by stating something about the Gandhi family particularly during lections. I liked reading the link too-I really think the person who spoke against rahul gandhi as not a very good student was really brave!

@Mr. Sharma
Yes, you are right. I have given undue importance to his statements. Did you see the Hindustan Times Leadership summit? Lalu so casually drifted away from Rajdeep Sardesai's question about expelling Shahabuddin, a RJD member with a criminal record, which is such a shame. And he wants to be PM!

@Krishna
Yes. Lalu hardly makes sense. He only provides comic relief.

Rahul Gandhi hasn't proved anything yet. True.

@Mithe
Truth is truth. Be it Rahul Gandhi or anybody else.

Well, its true. I was just trying to commend the person because in these times nobody plucks up the courage to speak a few words aginst your own people-what to talk about such people as politicians. They are a case of 'so near yet so far'(lolzz). I was talking about LPY when I said the milage thing(hope you didnot misunderstand):)

@Mithe
Oh absolutely. I did not misunderstand. I was commenting about the comments made by St. Stephens'. What they said about him would have to be true as they wouldn't go against a political figure like him to gain publicity.

I just meant that truth doesn't excuse anyone. :-)
