An Indian speaks

This is a must read.

Dear Mr.Terrorist,

My name is not Hades. Some of the more intelligent readers of The Times of Bullshit, no doubt, suspect that.

My name is Shoaib Daniyal. No, that won’t do. My name is Shoaib Mohammed Daniyal.

You say that you killed 195 people in Mumbai to avenge the maltreatment that people like me with names like Mohammed have faced in India.

Let me tell you something about my self. I did my schooling in Calcutta in one of the city’s finest schools—La Martiniere for Boys. I completed my graduation in Electrical Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra and am now employed with a premier business research firm in Gurgaon.

Maltreated? How?

If there was wide spread discrimination against Muslims, as you claim, how did these institutions take me in? A cursory look at my name is all it takes, if you want to discriminate.

That’s not to say that India is perfect. To get a house in Gurgaon I had to lie about my religion. I claimed I was Christian, playing up the similarity between ‘Daniel’ and ‘Daniyal’. People would not let out their house to a person named Shoaib Mohammed Daniyal.

[The Times of Bullshit]

We need more such voices. More than ever.

@Trail blazer - Some posts make you feel good and bad both, good that Danial took the initiative, and bad that he had to.

No matter what Danial says, the guys with AK47s will remain in denial! You can keep holding candles all your life. That will not make them put their 'candles' away. You light your candles to mourn and remember; they light their candles to make you mourn and not forget.

I am surprised...it's only one week and we have already forgotten. What more can those guys ask for. The must already be planning the next strike. Lest you forget.

Even I have linked to this guy.
This post just left me thinking...
All those people who generalize things and put all the people of a community in one bracket should read this.

Whatever the blog says is also a touching one. But this does not mean that every muslim is not maltreated, nor does it mean that those who are creating such thoughts in the minds of people inside mosques, madrasas will stop after watching Mumbai deaths. There is maltreatment everywhere in this world. Even in USA, UK also black skinned people are maltreated. There are different reasons for being maltreated and it not always the religion in India. But how they take those and fight against those and achieve good treatment is what differentiates. Ofcourse Terrorism is not at all the fight for it. Maltreatment could be one of the motivation factor, but it is not the only one. However this is major factor which needs to addressed by each citizen of India.
